On Thursday, June 4 we launched our first ever Virtual Spring Arts Festival. One benefit of going virtual is that we will now have student art up all year instead of just two weeks in the spring. Each major will be represented and we will have sections specific to this school year on art made during COVID-19, senior retrospectives and partnered collaboration with NYU Tisch.
This week the development of our 12th floor garden space has begun. The NYC horticultural Society and Council Member Keith Powers have supported the development of this space which will be filled with greenery upon our eventual return to A&D.
The DOE is engaging with parents, school leaders, students, and other stakeholders to collect ideas and perspectives on admissions for fall 2021. All parents and students are invited to join virtual borough-based meetings with Executive Superintendents.
Our first virtual PTA meeting on April 6th was a success. We heard from our principal, Max Re-Sugiura, AP of Art, Elma Reingold, and seniors from each of the art majors. We are so proud of our amazing students!
